In a historic collaboration between Doyon and Huna Totem Corporation, the highly anticipated Klawock Port has been officially inaugurated, marking a monumental milestone in Alaska's maritime history. Situated on the Pacific coast of Prince of Wales Island, adjacent to the Tlingit village of Klawock, this new port promises to redefine the cruise ship experience in the Last Frontier.

With a sprawling expanse across 16 acres, Klawock Port emerges as Alaska's latest hub for large cruise ships, following in the footsteps of the successful Icy Strait Point developed by Huna Totem. This innovative venture not only enhances maritime convenience but also enriches the cultural fabric of the region.

Visitors to Klawock Port can expect a plethora of activities, including sport fishing, culinary explorations, and immersive totem carving traditions, offering a unique blend of adventure and cultural immersion. Strategically positioned, the port serves as a pivotal stop for both north and southbound Alaska itineraries, boasting two distinct fjord entrances that showcase the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Moreover, the port's bridge connectivity to the island's road network ensures seamless exploration of neighboring communities and attractions, further enhancing the overall travel experience across Prince of Wales Island.

Beyond its touristic significance, the Port of Klawock heralds a new era of economic prosperity for the region. Repurposing the site of the former pulp mill dock, it injects fresh lifeblood into the local economy, offsetting the losses incurred by the mill's closure. With state-of-the-art infrastructure including a welcoming center, retail spaces, a café, scenic walking trails, and historical exhibits, the port caters to the diverse needs of visitors, providing essential amenities for an unforgettable stay.

Anticipating a surge in cruise line visits for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the port consortium is prepared to meet the increasing demand in Alaska's travel market. With a steadfast commitment to expanding cultural tour offerings and promoting sustainable tourism initiatives, the Port of Klawock emerges as a cornerstone of Alaska's burgeoning tourism landscape, inviting travelers to embark on unforgettable journeys through the Last Frontier."
