Rainbow has launched direct charter flights linking Gdańsk Airport with Kenya and Sri Lanka, opening long-haul leisure travel without transfers for the Pomerania region. The new services operate on Boeing 737 aircraft provided by Polish charter airline Enter Air. The programme began on 20 December 2025, expanding the range of non-stop exotic destinations available directly from northern Poland.

The first flight to Colombo took place on Sunday, 21 December, followed by a departure to Mombasa on 23 December, shortly before Christmas. Both destinations are offered as part of Rainbow’s organised travel programme, combining sightseeing tours and beach stays. The routes mark the first time Kenya and Sri Lanka have been served directly by charter flights from Gdańsk.

According to Rainbow, interest in long-haul leisure travel continues to grow among Polish holidaymakers. The tour operator says the new routes respond to demand for destinations that combine nature, culture, and relaxation. Gdańsk Airport describes the new services as a practical expansion of its long-haul charter offer, giving the region direct access to destinations outside Europe.

Sri Lanka offers access to historic cities, tea plantations, and long sandy beaches along the Indian Ocean. Kenya provides a different mix, with national parks known for wildlife viewing alongside coastal resorts near Mombasa. With non-stop flights now available, Kenya and Sri Lanka can be reached more easily by those planning safaris, organised sightseeing trips, or longer beach stays, without the need for connecting flights.

The new charter connections reduce travel time and simplify planning for those based in northern Poland. Long-haul destinations that once required connecting flights are now available through a single departure point. For many, this change lowers the barrier to exploring Africa and South Asia, while reinforcing Gdańsk’s position as an airport capable of supporting more ambitious leisure travel options.
