An International Hotel Brand Is Coming to Dhangadhi in 2028
The international hotel group IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to introduce a Holiday Inn property in Dhangadhi, expanding its footprint in Nepal beyond established tourist hubs. The 115 room hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028 and will become the company’s first presence in Sudurpashchim Province. The project reflects a wider push to develop branded accommodation in growing but still underserved urban markets across South Asia.
This new property will operate under the Holiday Inn name and is being developed as part of a mixed use complex in the centre of Dhangadhi. Located roughly 8.5 kilometres from Dhangadhi Airport and close to the India Nepal border, the hotel is positioned to attract business travellers, officials, and transit passengers, while also supporting leisure demand linked to domestic and cross border travel flows.

Staying at the hotel also places travellers within reach of several notable regional attractions. Guests will be able to plan visits to Shuklaphanta National Park for wildlife viewing, spend time at Ghodaghodi Lake for nature focused excursions, or explore Shivpuri Temple as part of local cultural itineraries. The city’s border location further allows easy movement between Nepal and neighbouring Indian regions, supporting short cross border trips.
