In a strategic move, IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Axe Management Partners to introduce its new midscale conversion brand, Garner™, to Japan later this year. This marks a significant milestone as it represents Garner's first venture beyond North America.

The LOI outlines plans for Garner to debut in Japan during the second half of 2024, with three conversion hotels in Osaka. These additions are set to contribute over 500 rooms to IHG's growing estate in Japan, and for more detailed information, interested parties can explore the company website.

Prior to the official rebranding as Garner, the three Osaka properties will undergo comprehensive refurbishment. The enhancements include improvements to guest arrival experiences, common spaces, lounges, cafes, and a refresh of guest rooms, encompassing design, lighting, bedding, and bathroom amenities.

Garner, launched in August 2023, aims to redefine the midscale hotel experience. The brand emphasizes key guest priorities such as a convenient location, a warm welcome amenity on arrival, a restful night's sleep, Wi-Fi, and digital check-in options – all offered at an unparalleled quality and price point. From delectable breakfasts to complimentary fresh coffee in the lobby and 24/7 access to tasty snacks at the Garner Shop, guests will enjoy a seamless and satisfying stay.

IHG ensures that guests at the three Garner hotels in Osaka can also avail themselves of the perks of IHG One Rewards, the brand's loyalty program. This includes earning and redeeming points, along with exclusive benefits like late check-out, room upgrades, and Milestone Rewards.

The strategic placement of the Garner hotels in Osaka's city center, near the iconic Midosuji shopping street and vibrant Dotonbori entertainment area, ensures easy access for guests. Honmachi Station, a bustling hub with 180,000 daily passengers, connects to three subway lines, facilitating convenient exploration of Osaka. Moreover, the hotels are well-connected to Kansai International and Itami airports, and Yumeshima Island, the future site of the 2025 World Expo and an integrated resort development, is just a 25-minute journey away.

This expansion solidifies IHG's position as a key player in Japan's international hotel landscape, boasting 54 operational or pipeline hotels across the country. With a diverse portfolio catering to various guest needs, including luxury, premium, essentials, and now the innovative Garner brand, IHG remains committed to furthering its business development and expanding its presence in Japan.
