Tauck has revealed plans to expand its riverboat fleet with the introduction of two new vessels by 2026. These ships, scheduled to begin cruising in the spring of that year, will be built in Serbia and the Netherlands. The larger of the two, a 135-meter riverboat, will sail the Rhône River, accommodating up to 130 guests. The smaller 125-meter vessel will navigate the Seine, carrying a maximum of 124 passengers. Tauck's approach continues to focus on offering spacious cabins and a more intimate experience onboard by limiting the number of passengers.

The new ships will follow Tauck's tradition of prioritizing guest comfort by keeping capacity lower than industry standards, which often favor larger guest numbers. The cabins on these ships will vary in size, with most being larger than the cabins on similar vessels, ensuring that travelers enjoy more room to relax. Solo travelers will also benefit from waived single supplements in Category 1 cabins, further encouraging independent explorers to join these French river journeys.

With the introduction of these new riverboats, travelers will have the opportunity to explore some of France's most iconic and scenic locations. For those cruising along the Rhône, stops may include Avignon, famous for its medieval architecture and the stunning Palais des Papes, or the charming city of Lyon, renowned for its culinary excellence and vibrant culture. The journey through southern France offers travelers a chance to immerse themselves in historic towns, wine regions, and picturesque landscapes.

For passengers sailing on the Seine, the itinerary might feature destinations like Giverny, home to the stunning gardens that inspired Claude Monet’s famous paintings, or Rouen, where visitors can explore Gothic cathedrals and sites rich with French history. Cruising the Seine also provides an opportunity to experience the countryside that surrounds Paris, offering a peaceful contrast to the bustling capital.

This news is significant for travelers looking for a more luxurious and personal river cruise experience in France. With fewer guests onboard, these ships promise a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing for better service and a chance to connect with fellow travelers in a less crowded environment. The spacious cabins and well-planned itineraries will likely attract those seeking comfort and unique cultural experiences.

Additionally, the all-inclusive nature of Tauck's cruises means that guests will enjoy shore excursions, meals, and beverages without the worry of added expenses. This model is particularly appealing for travelers who prefer a seamless travel experience without the stress of budgeting for extras along the way.
