Pride Train Marks New Chapter for Travelers in Skegness

East Midlands Railway (EMR) has launched a special rainbow-themed train, marking a milestone for both the LGBTQIA+ community and travelers heading to Skegness. This colorful train, with Pride and transgender flags, debuted on 7 September, transporting passengers from Nottingham to the East Coast Pride event in Skegness.

For travelers, this new initiative represents more than just a festive journey. It highlights EMR’s commitment to inclusivity, making public transport a more welcoming experience for all passengers. By incorporating such visible symbols of diversity, EMR is creating an environment where everyone feels respected, regardless of background or identity.

The train’s debut also enhances Skegness as a destination, especially for those planning trips during Pride events. The festive atmosphere awaiting travelers at the station, complete with Pride flags, banners, and celebratory items, added to the sense of occasion. For those visiting the south, Pride in Surrey takes place on the same date, offering a dynamic community celebration in Guildford.

With the Pride train now regularly operating on regional routes, travelers have a new reason to consider Skegness for future trips, especially around major events like East Coast Pride.
