PLAY Airlines Launches New Cardiff Route for UEFA Nations League Fans

PLAY Airlines has announced the commencement of ticket sales for its new route to Cardiff, Wales. Starting from October 10, 2024, the airline will operate flights twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, with the service running until November 20, 2024.

The introduction of this route is strategically timed to cater to fans attending the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches between Iceland and Wales. PLAY Airlines is positioning itself as a conduit not only to the sports event but also as a gateway for travelers looking to explore the scenic landscapes of Iceland or connect further to destinations in the United States and Canada.

Additionally, PLAY Airlines is enhancing the travel experience by offering a self-bookable stopover in Iceland on transatlantic flights. This option allows travelers to explore Icelandic attractions such as its lagoons and glaciers for up to 10 days at no extra cost, making the journey an enticing multi-destination adventure.

Einar Örn Ólafsson, CEO of PLAY Airlines, expressed confidence in the success of the new Cardiff route, citing the airline's commendable on-time performance in 2023, the youth of its fleet, and its recognition for service quality, as key factors that assure a premium travel experience.

This new route not only promises to facilitate travel for football enthusiasts but also enhances the connectivity between Iceland and major North American cities, providing a seamless travel experience that caters to both sports fans and adventure seekers.
