TrawsCymru's long-distance bus services, a vital part of Wales' public transport network, are set for significant enhancements. Recently, the Transport for Wales team engaged with communities along the T5 route, visiting Haverfordwest, Cardigan, and Aberystwyth, to gather valuable passenger feedback. This initiative aims to refine the T5 service based on insights from those who use it regularly, ensuring it meets travelers' needs effectively.

The input collected from these consultations highlighted both the strengths of the current service and areas needing improvement. This feedback will play a crucial role in refining the T5 service. Travelers now have an opportunity to influence these changes through an online survey available until August 5, 2024.

Haverfordwest, a charming market town, offers visitors a blend of historical intrigue and modern amenities. The town, situated on the banks of the River Cleddau, is dominated by the ruins of a 12th-century Norman castle. Visitors can explore the Haverfordwest Castle, which houses the town museum and offers stunning views of the area. The town’s narrow streets are lined with unique shops, pubs, and restaurants, making it a perfect base for exploring Pembrokeshire.

Moving along the T5 route, travelers reach Cardigan, a historic market town on the River Teifi. Cardigan is renowned for its vibrant cultural scene and the beautifully restored Cardigan Castle, which played a significant role in Welsh history. The town offers picturesque riverside walks, local galleries, and a rich heritage, making it an attractive destination for visitors. Moreover, Cardigan serves as a gateway to the stunning beaches and coastal paths of Cardigan Bay, offering ample opportunities for outdoor activities.

At the northern end of the T5 route lies Aberystwyth, a bustling coastal town known for its academic and cultural significance. Home to the National Library of Wales and Aberystwyth University, the town features a lively arts scene with numerous festivals, galleries, and theatres. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway, explore the ruins of Aberystwyth Castle, and stroll along the seafront promenade. Aberystwyth's vibrant nightlife and scenic beauty make it a popular destination for tourists.

The planned improvements to the TrawsCymru T5 service, driven by passenger feedback, promise to enhance travel experiences across these captivating Welsh towns. By integrating better connectivity and user-centric services, the T5 route aims to become an even more reliable and appealing option for both daily commuters and leisure travelers exploring the rich history and natural beauty of Wales.
