Train services linking Verona Porta Nuova and Vicenza will come to a temporary halt from 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025. This scheduled suspension is part of an extensive improvement initiative led by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), designed to pave the way for the new high-speed rail line between Verona and Vicenza. The goal of these improvements is to boost the railway system’s ability to handle more traffic while also raising safety measures for future operations.

Several key construction operations are scheduled to take place along the route. At Verona Porta Vescovo, crews will focus on laying underground cable channels and installing a new type of track crossover. Montebello Vicentino will host the assembly of infrastructure for an upcoming junction, along with the addition of noise-reducing barriers and support elements for electrical lines. Meanwhile, in Altavilla Vicentina, concrete panels will be positioned to form a new railway overpass. These efforts are vital for readying the route for future high-speed services.

Travelers using this section of the Italian railway network may encounter delays and altered routes. This stretch serves as a key link between northern cities such as Milan, Verona, and Venice, which are popular among tourists. Disruptions over the weekend could particularly affect passengers with tight schedules or long-distance transfers, including those heading to airports or major events in nearby cities.

Passengers are advised to check train schedules ahead of time and stay alert to any possible changes. RFI suggests using its official website or operator platforms to get the latest information. Being up to date will help travelers prepare better and make timely adjustments during the service interruption.

Though the temporary suspension may cause short-term inconveniences, it's a necessary step toward modernizing Italy's rail infrastructure and improving travel conditions in the long run. In the immediate term, passengers planning to pass through the Verona–Vicenza section should plan ahead, allow for delays, and stay informed through official channels to avoid disruptions.
