Italy has issued a notice about possible flight disruption on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, as a nationwide aviation strike is set to take place between 13:00 and 17:00. The four-hour walkout is expected to affect airports across the country. Authorities have advised passengers that delays or cancellations may occur as airlines adjust their operations during the industrial action.

Airports are preparing for possible disruption throughout the afternoon window, with some carriers likely to modify their schedules in advance. Travellers have been urged to keep an eye on real-time updates, as the availability of flights may change at short notice. Local airport operators will continue to share information as the situation develops.

Officials recommend that passengers contact their airline or travel agent before setting off, especially if their journey falls close to the strike hours. While essential services may still operate, regular flight patterns could be affected by reduced staffing. The advisory aims to give travellers enough time to plan alternative connections where necessary.

The planned strike falls during one of the busiest periods of the season, when many people travel to Italy’s major cities or head to popular winter spots. Milan, Rome, Florence, Naples and Venice usually welcome crowds in December thanks to their markets, concerts and end-of-year events. Any adjustment to flight schedules could prompt travellers to rethink their timing or consider different routes to reach their destinations.

The strike may be brief, yet it falls at a time when airports are already handling heavy seasonal traffic. Even small interruptions can affect flights scheduled later in the day, so staying updated becomes especially useful. Regular checks of airline notices and airport boards help travellers adjust their plans calmly and avoid unnecessary queues during the winter rush.
