TAP Introduces New Comfort Cabin for Long-Haul Flights
TAP Air Portugal has announced plans to introduce a new cabin class on its A330 and A321LR aircraft beginning in summer 2026. Positioned between Economy and Business Class, the product will feature 12 separate seats arranged in rows of four. The airline describes the layout as a response to the growing interest in added privacy, extra space, and a calmer in-flight environment on long-haul journeys.
The seats will be located directly behind Business Class and will be sold as an enhanced option for travellers who want more comfort without moving into a premium cabin. TAP notes that each seat will be free of a neighbour, giving passengers additional room and a sense of separation during the flight. The airline will support the cabin with upgraded airport services designed to make the time before boarding easier:

On board, customers will receive a set of additional comforts not included in standard Economy fares:
- a premium main meal with two hot dish choices
- meal pre-selection available up to 24 hours prior to departure

- a higher-quality headphones.
TAP expects the mix of added comfort, quieter seating, and personalised service to appeal to those seeking a more relaxed long-haul experience.
This new option strengthens TAP’s appeal for frequent flyers by adding benefits that go beyond a standard Economy fare. Passengers can earn bonus miles and use more flexible rebooking and refund rules, which may suit those who prefer a bit more control over their travel plans.
