On June 24, 2024, Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced the launch of daily flights between Singapore and Beijing’s Daxing International Airport starting November 11, 2024, pending regulatory approvals. This new route will enhance connectivity to the Beijing, Hebei, and Tianjin regions, known for their cultural heritage sites and accessible via an extensive network of highways, subways, and railways.

Starting August 5, 2024, SIA will also increase its weekly flights to Beijing Capital International Airport from 18 to 21. With the new Daxing route, SIA will offer a total of 28 weekly flights to Beijing from November 2024.

The inaugural flight SQ810 to Beijing Daxing is scheduled to depart Singapore at 0030hrs on November 11, 2024, arriving at 0635hrs local time. The return flight SQ811 will depart Beijing Daxing at 0925hrs and arrive in Singapore at 1550hrs. The Boeing 787-10 aircraft, featuring 36 Business Class and 301 Economy Class seats, will be used for this service.

This expansion underscores SIA’s commitment to the Chinese market. With Beijing Daxing, the SIA Group, which includes its low-cost subsidiary Scoot, will serve 24 destinations in mainland China. Mr. Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, highlighted the strategic importance of China, noting that the new route offers more travel options for tourists and business travelers alike.

Beijing Daxing International Airport’s Vice President, Mr. Kong Yue, welcomed the launch, noting that Singapore Airlines is the first foreign airline to connect the airport to Singapore. He expressed optimism about the renewed opportunities this service will bring, enhancing travel between the two countries.
