According to Willie Walsh, IATA Director General, despite this excellent result, the global air transportation industry still has work to do to ensure the safety of its passengers.

"Improving safety and preventing future airline accidents is the result of learning from past incidents. For airlines, this means cultivating a strong safety culture where every employee feels accountable for safety and is motivated and expected to report safety-related information," said Willie Walsh.
