Ryanair Adds New Newcastle–Wrocław Link for Winter 2025
Ryanair has confirmed that its new Winter 2025 service between Newcastle and Wrocław will launch this weekend, marking the start of twice-weekly flights on the route. The airline says the addition strengthens its presence in the North East and expands the range of direct European options available during the colder months. Seats are now on sale as part of Ryanair’s wider UK winter timetable.
Newcastle Airport welcomed the announcement, noting that Wrocław joins Budapest, Brussels, Gdańsk, and Malta in the airport’s line-up of winter city-break and sunshine destinations. According to the airport, growing demand for seasonal travel continues to shape its route development, with Ryanair’s latest service adding further choice for passengers planning short festive trips or off-peak holidays across Europe.
“We are excited to see Ryanair’s new Winter route to Wrocław take off for the first time this weekend. The service, along with additional Winter flights to Budapest, Brussels, Gdansk and Malta, provides our passengers with even more choice to enjoy some of Europe’s most popular festive city break destinations and winter sun getaways."
Ryanair described the first departure on the new route as a timely boost ahead of the busiest winter travel period. The airline highlighted that the twice-weekly service fits into its established pattern of low-fare operations from regional airports, which remains a core part of its UK offering. The carrier expects steady interest as more travellers look to combine shorter flying times with affordable fares.
The new link opens easier access to Wrocław, a Polish city known for its market squares, riverside walks, and restored historic architecture. It's Christmas market season, and museums and café culture are among the attractions that tend to draw winter visitors. The route also improves connectivity for passengers heading deeper into Lower Silesia, where cultural sites, spa towns, and former mining settlements sit within reach of the city’s transport network.
Ryanair’s latest addition reflects a continued focus on regional airports as gateways to European short-break destinations. For passengers in the North East, the Newcastle–Wrocław service offers a new option at a time of year when direct links are especially valued. The addition forms part of Newcastle Airport’s growing winter offering, which continues to attract new services as demand for seasonal travel rises.
