Northern California Man Arrested for Assaulting Flight Attendants on Frontier Airlines Flight

A 30-year-old man from Fremont, California, was arrested after allegedly assaulting flight attendants aboard a Frontier Airlines flight from Orange County to San Francisco. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff on September 9, prompting the flight to be diverted to Ontario International Airport for the safety of passengers and crew. Charles Angel Salva, who faces federal charges of interfering with flight crew members and attendants, was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in federal court.

According to the complaint, Salva caused a disturbance after attempting to tamper with oxygen masks in the overhead compartment. Witnesses reported that Salva appeared agitated, displaying erratic behavior, including yelling profanities and threatening fellow passengers and crew. At one point, he allegedly attempted to choke a flight attendant and made violent threats, prompting passengers to assist in restraining him.

The altercation escalated further when Salva broke out of flex cuffs and continued to attack a flight attendant, kicking them multiple times. Medical attention was required for the injured crew member. Due to the severity of the situation, the flight was diverted, and the FBI, along with local authorities, is investigating the matter.

If convicted, Salva faces up to 20 years in federal prison for his actions.
