New Route Links Bristol with Verona for Winter Travel
easyJet has begun operating its new winter route between Bristol and Verona, with the first flight departing on 6 December. The service will run twice a week throughout December, timed to support pre-Christmas travel, before switching to a weekly Saturday schedule for the rest of winter. The launch strengthens the carrier’s position at Bristol Airport, where it remains the largest airline and continues to expand its seasonal offering.
The airline highlighted Verona’s appeal during December, when the city leans fully into the festive period. Piazza dei Signori hosts a Christmas market framed by wooden stalls and lights, and ice-skating takes place in various central squares. The setting of "Romeo and Juliet" also hosts the International Christmas Crib Exhibition, which displays nativity artworks from around the world inside the Arena’s historic galleries.

easyJet has also confirmed wider investment in its Bristol base. An additional A320neo aircraft is set to join the fleet in summer 2026, enabling further growth and adding to the network of 83 destinations already served. New routes planned for next summer include Bari, Cape Verde, Reus, Seville, and Thessaloniki, marking another phase in the airport’s expansion plans and the airline’s long-term commitment to the region.
With a direct Bristol–Verona link in place, reaching some of northern Italy’s best-known sights becomes easier. The Arena, the narrow lanes around Piazza delle Erbe, and day trips to Lake Garda towns such as Sirmione or Malcesine are all within straightforward reach. December also brings markets, concerts, and winter food events across the Veneto region, giving visitors a mix of city walks and quieter trips into the countryside.
As winter routes expand, the Bristol–Verona link offers an extra way to plan a short break during the colder months. A direct flight helps keep weekend trips simple, and the airline’s plans for 2026 hint at even broader choices ahead. The addition of Verona shows how seasonal routes can give people in the southwest more room to plan holidays and short European escapes as Christmas approaches.
