The new railway connection from Bulgaria to Romania will be launched in March

In March 2024, a new railway connection is planned to be launched, connecting Ruse in Bulgaria with Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest.

The route, operated by Transferoviar Calatori (TFC), a private railway operator, will pass through Giurgiu and Bucharest North after the modernization of the Giurgiu-Comana-Bucharest North line is completed, Novinite.com reports.

Travelers will be provided with a quick trip between Ruse and Bucharest North, which will take about 50-60 minutes. The fare is 25 lei (approximately 5 euros).

The new service will use Alstom Coradia LINT 41 trains, known for their ability to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. These French-made, two-car trains are air-conditioned and have a capacity of 130 passenger seats, including 16 in first class. Alstom Coradia trains have already started commercial operations, initially connecting Bucharest North and Brasov.
