New Nonstop Belgrade–Alicante Flights Set for Summer
Air Serbia plans to launch direct services between Belgrade and Alicante on 1 June 2026, adding its eighth destination in Spain. The route will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, using Airbus A320 family aircraft. The airline states that fares are already available and that the schedule could extend beyond the initial season depending on demand. The move strengthens the carrier’s presence in one of Europe’s busiest summer markets.
The announcement builds on Air Serbia’s expanding Spanish portfolio, which already covers key leisure and business cities. Its existing network includes Malaga, Seville, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife. Company representatives frame the Alicante launch as a response to sustained demand and describe connectivity, scheduling and competitive pricing as core strengths that support its growth in southern Europe.
The new direct Belgrade-Alicante service is a result of a detailed analysis of the market and performance of comparable routes, which confirms that Air Serbia remains committed to sustainable growth, increasing the market share, and providing a better choice of destinations to its passengers. We are immensely pleased by the fact that we will be able to offer even easier access to Spanish summer resorts to passengers from Serbia and the region this summer. With this strategic move, the national carrier further boosts its presence on one of the fastest-growing markets in Europe.
Air Serbia notes that the route will integrate with its wider network via Belgrade, enabling same-day transfers across Europe and the Balkans. Air Serbia links the new route to steady leisure demand and says its network structure through Belgrade should support reliable connections during the season. The Alicante addition fits with the carrier’s recent shift towards busy summer destinations rather than purely business-focused cities.
What Becomes Easier to Reach
The Alicante link gives Serbian travellers simpler access to Spain’s Costa Blanca region, known for its mild climate and wide sandy beaches. Popular spots such as Benidorm, Altea and Elche sit within short onward travel distances, while Alicante itself offers a compact historic centre, marina, castle viewpoints and beachfront districts. The route also increases options for visitors heading into Serbia for summer events or Balkan circuit travel.
The new flights show how mid-sized European airlines are continuing to open seasonal southern routes in response to leisure demand rather than business hubs alone. For travellers planning summer 2026, Alicante joins a growing list of Iberian destinations reachable nonstop from Belgrade, reducing the need for indirect connections via Vienna, Munich or Madrid.
