IHG Hotels & Resorts in collaboration with Palm Holdings has announced the construction of a new dual-branded hotel complex in London’s central Waterloo district. The project, expected to be completed by the end of 2028, will include voco London Waterloo and Hotel Indigo & Suites London Waterloo. Together, the two properties will add 354 rooms to the area, increasing accommodation capacity in one of London’s most well-connected neighbourhoods.

The voco hotel will feature 182 rooms with a focus on modern comfort, while the adjacent Hotel Indigo & Suites will offer 172 rooms and suites inspired by the character of the local area. Both hotels will operate under a shared infrastructure that includes restaurants, business spaces, and wellness facilities. This setup is intended to meet the needs of both tourists and business travelers who prioritize a central location and easy access.

Guests staying at these hotels will find it easy to reach many of London’s important cultural and historic landmarks. Within walking distance lies the Imperial War Museum, famous for its impactful displays on worldwide wars. Close by, the National Theatre at the Southbank presents a diverse lineup of top-tier performances. Visitors seeking scenic views of the city can experience the famous London Eye, offering sweeping panoramas of the capital from its heights.

Besides cultural sights, the neighborhood around the hotels is also famous for its lively food and arts scene. Borough Market, considered one of the oldest and most popular markets in London, is within easy reach and is a fantastic spot to sample flavors from across the globe. A walk across the river leads to Tate Modern, a major contemporary art museum housed in a converted power station. For a more local experience, travellers can explore Lower Marsh Market, known for its street food, vintage shops, and independent cafés.

The opening of these two hotels will offer greater flexibility and choice for visitors to London. By combining two distinct hotel styles in a single location, the development caters to a wider range of preferences, whether guests are seeking a boutique atmosphere or a more standard premium stay. This approach reflects changing expectations among travellers who now look for variety, location, and sustainability in their accommodation.
