The popular winter destination of Muscat, Oman, is now welcoming Slovak tourists with direct charter flights from Bratislava’s M. R. Štefánik Airport. Operated by Slovak travel agencies, the new service begins on 25 October 2025 and will run up to three times a week. The new route lets Slovak holidaymakers fly straight to Oman’s coast for the 2025/2026 winter season, avoiding stopovers.

Muscat combines calm beach resorts for families with activities like dolphin watching, canyon swimming, and diving near coral reefs. Visitors can also wander through traditional markets filled with spices and handmade crafts. The city blends old Arabian charm with modern comfort, featuring quality resorts, calm beaches, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps visitors coming back.

“Thousands of passengers have already taken advantage of direct flights from M. R. Štefánik Airport to exotic Oman this year. Compared to last year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of travellers flying from Bratislava to Oman, as the range of flights has expanded, in addition to the traditionally popular direct services to Salalah, new charter flights to the country’s capital, Muscat, have also been introduced."
Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of M. R. Štefánik Airport

Interest in Oman among Slovak tourists has been rising, according to the tour operator SATUR. Eleonóra Fedorová, the company’s general director, says Muscat attracts visitors with its mix of sandy beaches, quality resorts, and the balance between authentic Arabian traditions and modern comfort. She added that more Slovaks are now choosing Oman for both family holidays and adventure trips, making it one of the region’s most popular winter destinations. Airport officials have also observed a strong increase in passengers flying from Bratislava to Oman this year.

The new charter route opens up easier access to Oman’s natural and cultural highlights. Travellers can combine a beach stay in Muscat with day trips to places like Wadi Shab, the ancient capital of Nizwa, or the dramatic Hajar Mountains. Local markets and coastal towns such as Sur offer a chance to experience Oman’s craftsmanship and relaxed pace of life.

With Muscat now directly connected to Bratislava, Slovakia’s travellers gain a smooth route to one of the region’s safest and most welcoming countries. The flights highlight how smaller European airports are expanding long-haul links to meet growing interest in winter sun destinations. Oman’s combination of adventure, tranquillity, and authentic charm is likely to keep drawing visitors seeking something different from the typical resort holiday.
