Iberia launched direct flights between Madrid and Toronto on 13 June 2026, opening a new Spain–Canada route for the summer season. The first service left Madrid-Barajas at 12:00 and arrived at Toronto Pearson at 15:00 local time, with more than 95% of seats filled. Iberia says the route will offer more than 37,000 seats this summer.

What Is Known About the Route

  • Route: Madrid-Barajas–Toronto Pearson
  • Frequency: five flights per week
  • Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Madrid–Toronto: IB0367, 12:00–15:00
  • Toronto–Madrid: IB0368, 17:10–06:55 next day
  • Aircraft: Airbus A321XLR with 182 seats

The route is part of Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030, which includes €6 billion for fleet renewal, network growth, digital services and customer experience. Iberia says Toronto joins its largest-ever North America programme, with more than 2.2 million seats and up to 170 weekly flights between Spain, the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico in 2026.

The service also makes Toronto more accessible for Spanish travellers, opening a direct route to Canada’s largest city and Ontario’s wider attractions. Visitors can use the route for Toronto city breaks, Niagara Falls, Lake Ontario, business trips or onward journeys across Canada. In the other direction, Canadian passengers can connect through Madrid to 46 destinations in Spain and more than 60 across Europe.

The biggest change is the removal of an extra connection on a popular long-haul trip. A direct flight is simpler for families, older travellers, business passengers and anyone travelling with checked luggage. It also makes two-country holidays easier to plan: Toronto can now be paired with Madrid, while Canadian visitors can start in Spain and continue across Europe.
