A chunk of Jurassic World: Rebirth, hitting screens on 2 July 2025, was shot among the wild cliffs and coves of Krabi, Thailand. Known for its limestone cliffs, coastal caves and dense forest, Krabi was selected by the production team for its terrain, which closely matched the film’s prehistoric setting. Locations such as Railay Beach and Phra Nang Cave served as visual stand-ins for scenes intended to depict untamed, ancient environments.

The choice of Krabi puts this part of southern Thailand on the map for film tourism. The Avani brand offers themed packages including:

  • Stays at Avani Ao Nang and Avani + Koh Lanta
  • Kayaking and hiking activities
  • Spa treatments
  • Themed dining experiences

These packages highlight the connection to the film without changing the area's natural character. Increased awareness may influence visitor behaviour but is unlikely to alter the region’s atmosphere.

With the movie's debut just around the corner, visitors might begin noticing small hints of Hollywood creeping into the local scenery. Around Railay and Phra Nang, you might spot handmade signs or notes hinting at movie scenes, and some locals may start guiding casual strolls through spots shown in the film. While no formal events are planned, those visiting between July and November may encounter more concentrated tourist activity around these areas, particularly during midday hours and weekends.

Travellers can reach these filming locations without guided tours or commercial arrangements. Railay Beach, accessible only by boat, connects to nearby walking paths and is frequently used by climbers. Phra Nang Cave can be reached on foot from Railay and provides access to coastal trails. Than Bok Khorani National Park has marked trails through the forest and areas with waterfalls. Hong Island, also reached by boat, is less busy and ideal for short stops in nature.

Krabi’s involvement in a global franchise does not significantly change how the area operates, but it may draw attention to places that were previously overlooked. For independent travellers, this connection offers another lens through which to explore the region, particularly for those seeking quiet natural landscapes that have now been captured on screen. Changes in visitor numbers are expected to be modest and spread over time.
