KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will reintroduce flights to Bridgetown, Barbados, starting October 26, 2025, for the winter season. The flights will be available three times a week and will continue through March 26, 2026. After a brief stopover in Barbados, KLM’s Boeing 787-9 will continue its journey to Georgetown, Guyana. This marks the airline’s return to a popular Caribbean destination after a two-year break.

Barbados is one of the largest markets in the Caribbean that has been underserved in recent years, particularly from the Netherlands. With this new route, KLM offers a direct connection to a tropical getaway for European travelers seeking sun during the colder months. This decision also shows the airline's dedication to meeting the needs of both tourists and business travelers heading to the region.

Flight Schedule Details

  • Departure from Amsterdam (AMS): Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays at 09:35
  • Arrival in Bridgetown (BGI): 13:35 local time
  • Departure from Bridgetown to Georgetown (GEO): 15:05
  • Arrival in Georgetown: 16:40 local time
  • Departure from Georgetown to Amsterdam: 18:00
  • Arrival in Amsterdam: 08:00 the following day

The new service makes it easier and quicker to reach Barbados, removing the need for connecting flights. Visitors can now easily access one of the Caribbean's most stunning destinations. This smoother travel experience is expected to drive more tourists to the region, making it easier for travelers to plan their holidays with greater convenience and peace of mind.

Barbados is now easier to explore, with direct access to its stunning beaches, lush scenery, and rich cultural heritage. From the bustling capital of Bridgetown to the serene sands of Crane Beach, visitors now have easier access to the island's top attractions. Whether it's relaxing on the beach, exploring local markets, or visiting historic landmarks, this direct flight makes it simpler to plan a tropical getaway with more convenience and certainty.

For many, this direct flight will significantly shorten the travel time, making it a more attractive option for both brief getaways and longer trips. This decision is part of a wider trend in the airline industry to reevaluate and bring back routes that were paused during the global pandemic. It highlights a fresh effort to connect major European cities with areas that were once less accessible.
