An aqua complex in Sweden's largest amusement park in Gothenburg caught fire, and the blaze spread over a large area. Rescue services are already working at the scene, and 12 people have been reported injured.

Operations Manager Klas Lüppert said that at the time of the fire, there were about three to four dozen people on site. Of these, 12 were injured, but their lives are not in danger, according to Dagens Nyheter.

At the same time, he noted that residents of all nearby neighborhoods should stay at home and lock their windows and doors, as acrid, thick smoke is spreading in the area. He explained that the building is quite tall, and there is a lot of plastic in it, hence the huge smoke clouds with a strong odor.

Liseberg Park is visited by approximately 3 million people every year. The water park where the fire broke out, with 14 water rides, was recently rebuilt and was supposed to be fully operational in the summer of 2024. According to local media, its construction cost $1.2 billion.
