More and more people around the world are opting for cruising as one of the most popular ways to see the world. Recently, the best cruise lines and ships in various categories were identified with the help of experts.

According to USA TODAY, Wind Spirit - Windstar Cruises was recognized as the best cruise for adults only, offering guests a private yacht-like experience with accommodations for only 148 guests. It features two main restaurants, a spa, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and a water sports area. Guests must be at least 8 years old to sail on Wind Spirit.

Eurodam - Holland America Line was recognized as the winner in the Best Alaska Cruise category. The exquisite Holland America Line ship invites passengers to experience the splendor of Alaska in elegance and style. As the largest of Holland America's ships, the 2100-passenger Signature Class offers gourmet dining, cultural enrichment, and exciting shore excursions.

Windstar Cruises was named the best boutique cruise line with less than 350 guests per sailing, promising a cruise experience without lines and waiting. Their six boutique ships, smaller than regular cruise ships, can visit small European villages, backwater harbors, and hidden coves, providing guests with opportunities to explore major capitals and smaller ports.

The best cruise for families is Adventure Canada, cruising to the great wonders of the north on sailing yachts and ice-defying research vessels. Expert-led excursions introduce young travelers to everything from archaeology and botany to glacier science through interpretive hikes, photography, and other unique programs.

Grand Circle was recognized as the best cruise line for individual travelers, known for its shore excursions in small groups (no more than 47 people) and free or low-cost one-time surcharges. The roommate matching program connects travelers of the same gender, and an online forum allows single travelers to connect before their departure date.

Carnival Cruise Line was recognized in the Best Cruise Ship for Dinner (Carnival Celebration) category, featuring popular dining options such as Guy's Burger Joint, Cucina del Capitano, and Emeril's Bistro 1397, along with Street Eats offering a variety of dishes.

In the Best Cruise Ship for Entertainment category, Carnival Cruise Line's Celebration ship leads with a variety of high-level entertainment venues, live music, thrilling water slides, and the famous Bolt roller coaster.

Carnival Cruise Line also excelled in the Best Ocean Cruise category, offering passengers water parks, luxurious casinos, live entertainment, and various casual dining options, including a partnership with celebrity chef Guy Fieri, all at affordable prices.

Lastly, Viking Cruises won in the Best River Cruise category with a fleet of more than 60 ships sailing the waterways of Europe, Asia, the United States, and Egypt. Viking's all-inclusive cruises include cozy cabins, Wi-Fi, wine and beer with meals, shore excursions in each port, and cultural programs.

Earlier, TravelWise reported that in 2024, a luxurious selection of cruises is expected with new ships. Expert recommendations on how to book tickets for a cruise vacation without spending all your money were also provided.
