easyJet is adding extra December flights between London Gatwick and Friedrichshafen, giving UK travellers more direct options for Christmas-market breaks around Lake Constance. Thursday and Sunday services will supplement the route’s regular Saturday winter flight, widening the choice of travel days during Advent. The Saturday connection will remain after Christmas, keeping Friedrichshafen linked with Gatwick through the winter season and into spring.

How the December Schedule Changes

  • Route: London Gatwick–Friedrichshafen.
  • Airline: easyJet.
  • First extra flight currently scheduled: 10 December 2026.
  • Thursday: Gatwick 09:00 – Friedrichshafen 11:45; return 12:20.
  • Saturday: Gatwick 08:20 – Friedrichshafen 11:05; return 11:45.
  • Sunday: Gatwick 09:00 – Friedrichshafen 11:45; return around 12:25–12:30.
  • Seasonality: extra Thursday and Sunday flights in December; Saturdays continue until mid-April.
  • Booking: on sale now.

Friedrichshafen also works as a starting point for trips around the lake rather than just a final destination. The airport is connected to the public transport network by rail and bus, with a FlixBus stop at the terminal, while Friedrichshafen harbour provides onward lake services. This makes it possible to continue towards other Lake Constance towns without automatically needing a hire car.

Christmas Markets Within Reach

  • Friedrichshafen Christmas Market: 27 November–20 December 2026.
  • Konstanz Christmas Market: 26 November–23 December 2026.
  • Bregenz Christmas Market: runs until 23 December 2026.
  • Friedrichshafen: also home to the Zeppelin Museum.

The three markets do not share the same closing date, so the choice of flight matters for anyone building a multi-stop Advent trip.

Friedrichshafen’s own Christmas market closes on 20 December, while the added flight pattern continues later in the month. Trips after that date therefore work better for Konstanz or Bregenz, which remain open until 23 December, or for wider winter activities around Lake Constance. Anyone travelling mainly for the Friedrichshafen market should choose an earlier December flight rather than assuming all festive services overlap with its dates.
