The Molalla Pride event, scheduled for September 8, was canceled after a surge in online threats raised significant safety concerns. Initially planned as a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community with various family-friendly activities, the event was called off by organizers who decided to prioritize the safety of all participants amid increasing hostility from far-right groups.

In response to the cancellation, the organizers are considering holding a smaller, private event later in the fall. This potential gathering aims to preserve the spirit of the Pride celebration while ensuring a safe environment for attendees. The cancellation highlights the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community in organizing public events in an increasingly hostile atmosphere.

While the Molalla Pride event was forced to cancel, other major Pride parades are planned worldwide. One of the most anticipated events will be held in San Francisco at the end of June. This Pride is renowned for its massive parades, which annually attract tens of thousands of participants. San Francisco has always been at the forefront of the LGBTQ+ movement, and this year will be no exception.

Another significant event is EuroPride, which will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, this year. This Pride attracts thousands of people from across Europe and is known for its friendly atmosphere and vibrant celebrations. Participants can look forward to multi-day events, including parades, concerts, and educational seminars aimed at promoting LGBTQ.

On the other side of the world, Brazil hosts one of the largest Pride events globally—Sao Paulo Pride. This Pride draws millions of participants each year and is famous for its vibrant and large-scale celebration. The event not only highlights Brazil’s cultural diversity but also provides a platform to address important social issues such as equality and inclusivity.
