Anantara Koh Yao Yai Adds Wellness Retreats to Island Holidays
Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas in Thailand has launched wellness retreats built around a daily choice of treatments, exercise sessions and workshops. Guests select activities according to their interests, with accommodation and some meals included in the booking. In addition to the retreat launch, the resort’s spa is now offering guided breathing before treatments, making it the first step no matter what visitors book, whether it be a massage or another spa experience.
Guests booking the retreat pay a nightly rate that covers their stay and a choice of daily activities, with some extras included once per visit:
- Starting price: THB 18,000++ per night; confirm the full payable amount before booking.
- Accommodation: Included in the package.
- Daily activity: One spa treatment, movement session or wellness workshop.
- Sound healing: One session during the stay.
- Meals: Daily breakfast and one wellness lunch.
- Personalisation: Activities selected from the resort’s treatment menu and facilities.
- Room count: Not specified in the announcement.
Beachside Treatments and Time to Explore the Island
Treatment settings vary across the property. Tok Sen and traditional Thai massages are offered in beach cabanas, while guests staying in Pool Villas or Penthouses can arrange sound healing in their own pools. Participants float on inflatable beds during guided meditation. On the menu is an abdominal massage using subtle manual techniques, and Naga Martial Massage, a combination of Thai martial arts with deep breathing with stretches.
Laem Had’s sand spit offers a reason to venture beyond the hotel, though the tide affects how much sand is exposed. Other outings can take visitors through Koh Yao Yai’s coastal communities or across the water to neighbouring Koh Yao Noi. The latter requires a boat journey. Anyone combining an excursion with a treatment on the same day will need to account for transport and the return crossing.
Choosing activities individually could make the retreat workable for companions with different plans: one might prefer a workshop while another books a massage. The programme still calls for some decisions before arrival, particularly when treatments must fit around days out. Asking for the available appointment times and eligible treatment list would help guests judge how much of their holiday they want to schedule, and how much they would rather leave open.
