Alaska Airlines Expands Service at LAX with New Routes and Increased Frequencies

Alaska Airlines is expanding its presence in Southern California, announcing new routes and increased service frequencies from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), providing travelers with more options to reach popular West Coast destinations.

Starting this fall, Alaska Airlines is adding new routes from Los Angeles and San Diego, including a 39th nonstop destination from San Diego to Las Vegas. The airline will also start new service between Los Angeles and Pasco, along with a revived route from Los Angeles to Reno. The new service is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2024, with routes already available for booking.

Additionally, Alaska Airlines is ramping up its service from LAX to several existing destinations. Popular routes to Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Spokane, Medford, Boise, Santa Rosa, San Jose, and Las Vegas will see a significant increase in daily flights. With this expansion, the airline is boosting capacity by more than 25%, providing travelers with more flexible options for their journeys.

Neil Thwaites, Regional Vice President for California at Alaska Airlines, stated that this expansion demonstrates the airline's commitment to the Southern California region. He expressed enthusiasm for offering the largest schedule from the area in recent years, which underscores the airline's role as a significant carrier on the West Coast.

Officials from Los Angeles International Airport and San Diego International Airport have also praised Alaska Airlines' commitment to growth and highlighted the benefits these new routes and increased service frequencies bring to travelers. With more flights to choose from and expanded travel options, passengers can look forward to enhanced convenience and flexibility when planning their trips.
