Italy is bracing for a full-day nationwide strike on Friday, June 20, and travelers heading through the country’s northern airports should be ready for possible disruption to flight-related services. The protest, organized by grassroots trade unions, affects both public and private sectors, including air transport. Airports in Verona, Venice, and Treviso have issued official notices about possible delays in passenger services and aircraft operations between 00:01 and 23:59 on that day.

Official statements note that airport operations may face delays, even though no mass cancellations have been announced. Check-in counters, boarding procedures, and baggage handling are among the areas where delays could occur. Passengers scheduled to fly to or from any of the affected cities are advised to plan for longer processing times and stay in regular contact with their travel providers for updates.

The strike is scheduled at a time when airports in northern Italy are experiencing high passenger volumes due to summer travel. Verona Villafranca, Venice Marco Polo, and Treviso airports operate numerous domestic and international routes. Delays in airport operations on June 20 may interfere with scheduled flights. Passengers are encouraged to check with their airline or agency to confirm departure and arrival times.

Travelers booked to fly on the day of the strike should remain alert to changing flight information. Checking for real-time updates through official airline channels is recommended. Also, if you're planning to get to the airport by train or bus, keep in mind that the strike affects more than just flights. Rail lines and local buses in the area could also face interruptions or delays.

The warning comes directly from Catullo SpA, the operator behind Verona Airport and several nearby air hubs, who issued the update ahead of the expected disruption. Officials haven’t given a clear picture of how serious the disruption might be, but they’re urging travelers to be ready just in case things don’t run smoothly. Passengers are urged to allow extra time at the airport and remain flexible with their travel plans in case of unexpected delays or changes.
