The Port of Fowey in Cornwall has welcomed the largest ship to ever dock in the city's harbor.
The Spirit of Adventure, operated by Saga Cruises, weighs about 60,000 tons and is 236 meters (775 feet) long. Fowey harbor captain Paul Thomas said it was the longest and heaviest ship to ever enter the city's harbor, the BBC reports.
He said its arrival is a "big deal" for tourism in the region.
The captain also added that it was a difficult task to prepare for, and another pilot had to travel to Germany to use a simulator to check how the ship docks in different weather conditions.

"I think it's a great thing for Fowey and the region," he said.
Polruan Coastwatch station manager Ray Wrigg said the ship was an impressive sight for locals.
