The EasyJet plane made an emergency landing in Manchester due to a passenger falling ill
An EasyJet plane en route from Inverness to London was forced to make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport. The reason for this was the illness of one of the passengers.
He reportedly suffered from heart problems. According to the Mirror, an airport spokesperson confirmed that the flight was interrupted due to a health problem with one of the travelers.
According to the airport spokesperson, the plane "altered its course to accommodate" the traveler's condition from deteriorating.
The Airbus A320-214, which was carrying 180 passengers, took off from Inverness at about 6:40 a.m. It took about an hour to land.
The passenger who felt ill was met in Manchester with a medical team. After receiving first aid, the flight continued on its way to Gatwick.
An easyJet spokesperson said: "We can confirm that flight EZY846 from Inverness to London Gatwick Airport was forced to divert to Manchester this morning due to a passenger on board requiring urgent medical attention. The passenger was met in Manchester by medical services and the flight will continue to Gatwick this morning. The safety and well-being of our customers and crew is always a top priority for easyJet."
