Some Britons will now need a special document to travel to Spain
Vacationers from the UK traveling to Spain with family or friends should pay attention to what documents they need.
Citizens of non-EU countries who are going to stay at their address of residence now need to have an official letter of invitation, reports the Daily Star.
The letter should be provided by the person you plan to stay with. In turn, he or she must obtain it from the police. The cost of such a document is 75.05 euros (63.98 pounds).
The letter was not required when the UK was considered part of the EU. But after leaving the EU, the British must have such a document with them in case the Spanish border service checks them.
Those with EU passports do not need to provide a letter.
The time it takes to receive a completed letter varies. But it usually takes about 20 days to process the request. It is recommended that the resident apply about two months before the tourist departs for Spain.
