Shannon Adds Early Paris Link for Summer 2026

The Shannon Airport Group has welcomed Aer Lingus’ decision to introduce an extra weekly service between Shannon and Paris Charles de Gaulle. The additional flight will operate on Tuesdays, departing Shannon at 7:10am from 5 May to 20 October 2026. It complements the existing Thursday and Sunday rotations, increasing frequency on a route first launched in September 2024.
Airport management said demand on the Paris service has grown steadily since its introduction. The early morning departure is timed to improve options for both point-to-point journeys and onward connections through Charles de Gaulle, one of Europe’s largest hubs. The expanded schedule strengthens Aer Lingus’ European presence at Shannon during the peak summer season.
The announcement follows confirmation that Aer Lingus will also expand its Shannon–Boston programme next summer, rising from three to ten weekly flights at peak. Shannon continues to serve key transatlantic and European destinations, including New York JFK and London Heathrow, positioning the airport as an important gateway for Ireland’s Mid-West region.
Greater frequency to Paris may support short city breaks in the French capital while also widening access to onward destinations across Europe and Asia via Charles de Gaulle. Inbound visitors from France gain improved access to the Wild Atlantic Way and attractions across Clare, Limerick and Galway. The new Tuesday flight spreads traffic more evenly through the week and takes some weight off the busiest weekend departures.
Adding a third weekly service points to consistent demand on the route, not just a seasonal experiment. A mid-week option gives people more freedom to arrange business trips, events or quick breaks without squeezing everything into a Friday-to-Sunday window. Alongside the wider European network and expanded US services, Shannon’s schedule is being shaped around how people in the region actually travel during the summer months.
