Passenger in Delhi hid cash in suitcase wheels: he was detained

Central industrial security forces at the Delhi airport in India detained a passenger who was hiding foreign currency worth Rs 7.24 thousand in the wheels of his suitcase. According to officials, the passenger was identified as Md Asad.
The detainee was traveling with an Indian passport. He was caught in the check-in area of Terminal 3 at the IGI airport in Delhi, Devdiscourse writes.
It is reported that the checked baggage of the traveler in wheels contained foreign currency in denominations of 500 Saudi riyals (500x65=32500), 150 UAE dirhams, with a total value of 7,248 rupees.
A senior CISF officer confirmed that the passenger was detained at around 6 am.
"He was supposed to fly to Dubai on a Spicejet flight, flight number SG-11/STD 0815. The said passenger was diverted to XBIS for random screening at gate 03," the statement said.

The passenger was detained after passing immigration control and taken to the International Departure Customs with his documents and luggage.
