In the UK, Stagecoach is bringing back the N1 route between Liverpool and Wirral. The new route will start operating on Friday, December 8, just after midnight and will run every hour until 5 am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier, the carriers removed the route due to quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic, Liverpool Echo reports. It is noted that from now on, people will again be able to travel across the River Marsy in the early morning and safely get to their homes.
"We are delighted to be working with the Mayor and look forward to relaunching this long-awaited commercial night bus service, creating new routes and better coverage than we have had before, and with much lower fares, meeting the need for accessible and affordable late night travel," said Matt Davies, acting director of Stagecoach Merseyside.
The new night bus route will run between Birkenhead and Allerton with stops in Liverpool city center. The route also includes stops in Toxteth, Wavertree and Mossley Hill.
Tickets will cost £2, in line with the adult fare introduced by Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram in September 2022.
