New Hotel Opening Brings Scandic to Norway’s Coastal Town of Florø
Scandic has officially opened its first hotel in the coastal town of Florø, marking another step in the company’s expansion across western Norway. The property, now operating as Scandic Victoria Florø, was previously Comfort Hotel Victoria. With 97 rooms and meeting facilities for up to 150 people, the hotel joins Scandic’s network as part of the company’s continued focus on growing through franchise partnerships.
The new opening follows Scandic’s strategy of adding more partner-run properties to complement its existing portfolio. The hotel will be operated by the Helle family under the Scandic brand, forming a long-term collaboration aimed at strengthening the guest experience in the region. Scandic emphasises that franchise hotels play an important role in its development plan and help broaden its presence in key Norwegian destinations.

Scandic’s updated growth targets, presented earlier this year, include adding roughly 10,000 rooms by 2030. Half of these will come from Scandic Go, the company’s economy segment, while the remainder will involve new openings and franchise agreements across the Nordic countries. The launch in Florø forms part of this wider expansion, joining recent additions such as The Dock 69°39 by Scandic in Tromsø and several newly signed hotel projects with more than 1,400 rooms.
With Scandic Victoria Florø now open, visitors gain easier access to one of western Norway’s scenic gateways. Florø is known for its harbour setting, its nearby islands and the walking routes along the coast. The hotel gives visitors an easy place to stay while exploring the area. Popular options include the shoreline around Kinn, short boat trips to quiet island communities, and outdoor activities that make this part of western Norway a regular stop for people who enjoy nature-focused trips.
The arrival of Scandic in Florø reflects the company’s intention to strengthen its presence in local markets while offering guests a consistent standard of comfort across its network.
