New Direct Flights from Newcastle to Key European and North African Destinations in 2026
From March 2026, easyJet will add 11 new direct routes departing from Newcastle Airport, marking a major expansion linked to its upcoming operational base. The expanded network will connect the North East of England to diverse coastal and cultural spots in Europe and North Africa. Flights will be rolled out gradually between March and August, offering new options for holidaymakers planning trips in the warmer months. Fares for these new flights will start from £28.99 one way.
The new routes include:
- Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey
- Corfu and Rhodes in Greece
- Faro in Portugal
- Malta
- Reus in Spain
- Prague in the Czech Republic
- Nice in France
- Enfidha in Tunisia
- Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt
Frequencies will vary between two and three times per week depending on the destination, significantly increasing the number of direct international connections from Newcastle.

Thanks to these new routes, travelers will have easier access to several notable locations. The area around Ölüdeniz in Turkey includes Butterfly Valley, which offers scenic cliffs and peaceful paths suitable for hikers. The Amphitheatre of El Djem in Tunisia is a remarkable Roman ruin providing a glimpse into ancient history. Located in Malta, the Blue Grotto is known for its striking sea caves and the scenic boat rides that take visitors through them.
Additional places now more reachable include the Cote d'Azur’s Promenade des Anglais in Nice, a vibrant waterfront boulevard perfect for seaside walks and local dining. Near Prague, visitors can explore the picturesque Český Šternberk Castle set above the Sázava River. Ras Mohammed National Park near Sharm El Sheikh is well known for its vibrant coral reefs and popular diving spots in the Red Sea.
The introduction of these connections highlights a broader move within UK aviation to enhance international travel options from regional airports. The changes will allow travelers to benefit from streamlined journeys, better value tickets, and more adaptable itineraries. Post-pandemic changes in travel behavior are driving airlines and airports to place greater importance on regional linkages.
