New date for the processing of documents required to enter France, Greece, and Spain is announced
A new date for the documents required to enter France, Greece, and Spain has been announced. It is a document of the European Tourist Information and Authorization System ETIAS, which will allow British citizens and citizens of dozens of other countries to enter European countries for a fee.
This is reported by StokeonTrentLive. The new system will track who enters and leaves the Bloc.
The new travel IT system should be ready by autumn 2024, and the entry/exit system will be in place by spring 2025.
UK citizens will need to pay £6 and complete an ETIAS form before travelling, which will be valid for three or more years until their passport expires.
The entry/exit system will replace manual passport stamping with electronic registration. ETIAS and an online travel authorization system for visa-free third-country nationals, including UK citizens travelling to 30 European countries, will be implemented soon.
