More Winter Sun Options as Jet2 Adds New Routes and Increases Capacity for 2026/27

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced a significant expansion of their Winter Sun programme for the 2026/27 season. The update includes over 4.4 million seats available from 14 UK airports, making it the airline’s most extensive winter schedule so far. Among the additions are two new routes: Bournemouth to Malaga and London Luton to Palma de Mallorca. Jet2 is also adding more seats on popular routes to Morocco, Malta and Madeira, highlighting strong demand for winter sun escapes.
The programme features flights to 14 destinations commonly associated with winter sun holidays, including the Canary Islands, Mainland Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Malta, Morocco and Cyprus. More than 600 outbound flights per week are scheduled during peak periods. Airports outside of London, including Bristol, will see notable increases in available seats. Bristol alone is expected to offer over 270,000 seats this season, which represents a seven percent rise compared to the previous winter. The move is designed to improve access from regional airports and relieve demand on major city hubs.
Travellers planning a winter break will have more flexibility and a wider range of options. Several destinations along these routes provide opportunities for both leisure and cultural experiences. Visitors to Palma de Mallorca can enjoy wandering along the seaside promenades and taking in the stunning Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma. With winding cliffside paths and lush gardens, Madeira offers a scenic escape in any season. Malaga offers a blend of history and art, including the Alcazaba fortress and the Picasso Museum. With schedules available well in advance, travellers can book with more certainty and avoid late-season limitations.
The strengthened focus on locations like Morocco and Malta reflects growing interest in diverse travel experiences. Whether it’s wandering through Marrakech’s iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa, soaking up the sun in Agadir, or getting lost in the blue maze of Chefchaouen, Morocco delivers something memorable for every kind of visitor. On the cultural front, Malta offers plenty to see, including Valletta’s UNESCO-listed landmarks, the medieval walls of Mdina, and the buzzing seaside vibe of St Julian’s. These locations offer a mix of pleasant weather, rich cultural history, and convenient travel connections.

Overall, the expanded Winter Sun schedule is intended to meet increasing demand for winter travel from the UK. By offering more direct routes, increased flight frequency and improved access from regional airports, the programme is positioned to support early planning and broaden destination choices for a variety of holidaymakers. This expansion makes it easier to find warm-weather getaways nearby, reducing the need for long-haul flights.
