Lunkito, the world's oldest wild lion, was brutally killed by herders in Kenya

A real tragedy took place in Kenya's Amboseli National Park. A 19-year-old lion named Lunkito was killed there.
The animal lived in the park and was considered the oldest lion living in the wild, according to the ВВС.
Lion Lunkito did not die by his own hand. He became a victim of shepherds from the local Maasai tribe. The people were angry that the predator went to one of the surrounding villages in search of food and attacked cattle. The old lion was beaten to death with spears by the shepherds.
The killing of the oldest wild lion came as a real shock to many. The killing of Lunkito was condemned by environmentalists, who called on local residents to avoid such a situation as much as possible.
It should be added that although the record holder Lunkito was considered the oldest lion living in the wild at the age of 19, many lions live longer in captivity.
