Lufthansa is set to reopen its lounge at Stuttgart Airport on 16 December 2025 following an extensive refurbishment programme. The space has been fully reworked and is now divided into two separate areas: a Business Lounge and a Senator Lounge. Entry is handled through a digital access system, while the new layout places stronger emphasis on comfort, flexibility, and a calmer pre-flight environment for eligible passengers.

Inside, the lounge has been laid out around several distinct zones aimed at different types of travellers. Some sections are geared towards working or reading, while other parts of the lounge are noticeably quieter and designed for downtime before boarding. Passengers looking for a calmer atmosphere can also use smaller, more secluded seating areas. The refurbishment brought a broader food and drinks offering, with magazines and newspapers available across the space.

One of the changes passengers are likely to notice first is the barista coffee bar in the Senator Lounge. Coffee is prepared on site using beans sourced locally, giving the lounge a subtle regional touch. According to Lufthansa, the updated interior draws on the airline’s familiar design language while reflecting Stuttgart’s industrial roots through its materials and layout.

The reopened lounge supports Lufthansa Group’s network at Stuttgart Airport, where more than 60 routes across 21 countries are currently served. Most flights are operated by Lufthansa and Eurowings, with additional services provided by Austrian Airlines and SWISS. Stuttgart’s Manfred Rommel Airport remains an important regional base, linking Baden-Württemberg with major European hubs and selected longer connections.

The timing of the reopening comes just ahead of the Christmas travel rush, restoring access to a quieter and more practical lounge space for passengers flying out of Stuttgart. Regular users who were affected by the closure are expected to appreciate the return of familiar facilities. The refurbishment also underlines the growing attention airlines place on ground services as part of the wider journey.
