Jet2 Adds Thassos Flights With New UK-Kavala Links

The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace has confirmed a new partnership with Jet2 aimed at promoting Thassos to UK holidaymakers. The announcement follows the launch of package holidays to the Greek island, which is being introduced into Jet2’s network for the first time. The move forms part of a joint effort to increase awareness of Thassos as a summer destination among travellers departing from the UK.
Flights will operate to Kavala International Airport, the closest gateway to Thassos, with departures scheduled from Birmingham, Manchester and London Stansted during the Summer 2027 season. The London Stansted service will be exclusive to Jet2. With the addition of Kavala, Jet2.com will serve 16 airports across Greece, giving it the widest Greek network among UK airlines.
Summer 2027 flight schedule to Kavala
- Birmingham – weekly Wednesday flights, 12 May to 29 September
- London Stansted – weekly Tuesday flights, 11 May to 28 September (exclusive route)
- Manchester – twice weekly flights, Tuesday and Friday, 11 May to 1 October
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace to promote the stunning island of Thassos, which is our newest destination. Working in partnership has always been critical to us in terms of delivering continued success and it is something we look forward to doing with the region for the long-term. We are very grateful for this co-operation and we are very excited about launching to this fantastic brand-new destination."
Package holidays will be offered through Jet2holidays, including return transfers and a 22kg baggage allowance. Bookings are available with a deposit starting at £60 per person. The programme is designed to appeal to a wide range of travellers, with Thassos presented as a destination suitable for both families and couples seeking a quieter Greek island experience.
The new flights improve access to northern Greece, making it easier to reach Thassos and nearby coastal areas. Travellers can also spend time in Kavala, with its old town and harbour, and visit parts of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The transfer between Kavala and Thassos is shorter than from more distant airports, which can reduce travel time after arrival.
Flights to Kavala allow a direct journey, without changing planes on the way to Thassos. After landing, the distance to the island is shorter than when arriving at more distant airports, so less time is spent on transfers. This helps keep the journey straightforward and easier to organise, especially for those choosing a quieter Greek island for a summer break.
