voco, the hotel brand under IHG, just hit 100 open locations. Not bad for something that only started back in 2018 and has been quietly popping up in more and more places since then. Сonverted from existing properties, voco hotels are now operating in more than 25 countries. This model allows hotels to join the network relatively quickly, offering a familiar booking experience in a variety of local contexts.

According to IHG, 95 additional voco properties are currently in development. While the brand continues to expand into countries like Türkiye, Malaysia and Aruba, many of the existing hotels are located in areas that previously had limited international hotel presence. This change could simplify planning for travellers who prefer using global platforms when visiting less central destinations.

We are so proud to have opened 100 voco hotels in less than seven years. The brand has grown faster, pushed further and continues to exceed expectations every year.

In China, the new voco Guilin Yangshuo places guests in a region known for its striking natural scenery. The hotel is located within the Ten Mile Gallery area of Yangshuo, surrounded by limestone formations and the Yulong River. Nearby, West Street offers access to shops, restaurants and cultural sites, all within walking distance. The area is a common base for river excursions and hikes through the Guangxi landscape.

Another recent opening, voco Quang Binh Resort in Dong Hoi, Vietnam, is situated along Bao Ninh Beach. The resort is within range of several natural sites, including the UNESCO-listed Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Visitors staying in Dong Hoi can also explore local markets or access guided trips to caves such as Son Doong, which is known as the world’s largest.

These changes are increasing the availability of mid-range places to stay in areas known for nature and regional tourism. Travellers may also find it easier to navigate local logistics, including language or payment, thanks to more consistent infrastructure. As more voco hotels open, exploring lesser-known parts of the world could become more convenient for international guests.
