Expert names the best time for booking airline tickets for Christmas
You should book your vacations for the Christmas holidays in 2023, as well as for Thanksgiving, now to avoid overpaying.
This advice was shared by Hayley Berg, a leading economist at Hopper Airfare Tracker. According to her, the best time for this is until October 14, CBS reports.
Airfare prices are on a downward trend, with 11 of the last 14 months showing a decline. Hopper reports that domestic flights cost an average of $226 for a round trip on Thanksgiving, down 11% from the previous year and 20% from 2019.
Prices for European flights are also declining, with the average cost around US$1,130, down from last year but up from 2019.
Meanwhile, international airfares will also be higher by the end of this year, experts predict.
"This holiday season, we expect international airfares to remain above pre-pandemic levels," Berg said.
