In one of the most popular tourist destinations, Egypt, a digital transformation programme is gaining momentum.
It involves the gradual abandonment of cash payments for tickets to museums and attractions. The country is increasingly switching to cashless payments, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities writes.
For example, such Egyptian attractions as the Egyptian National Museum or the Giza Pyramids are available for tourists to enter only after purchasing tickets by cashless payment.
In addition to these locations, many other popular tourist destinations in Egypt have already switched to card payments.
