Singapore Airlines is set to begin a large-scale renovation of its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 starting 15 April 2025. The S$45 million project will unfold in phases over two years, with final completion anticipated by mid-2027. The redevelopment is part of the airline’s efforts to improve the on-ground travel experience at its primary hub in Singapore.

The revamped lounges will offer 50% more space and seating, with new design features drawn from the airline’s flagship lounges at Terminal 3. Those flying out of Terminal 2 can expect a more refined atmosphere, complete with improved food selections and travel-class-specific features. The enhancements are intended to improve comfort while waiting and align the space with current airport service standards.

This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers. Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2.
Mr Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience, Singapore Airlines

Construction on the First Class SilverKris Lounge is set to begin in April 2025 and is expected to wrap up by year’s end. The Business Class lounge will come next in the fourth quarter of 2025, renovation of the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge is scheduled for the first half of 2026. To maintain service continuity, the renovation will proceed in stages, allowing sections of each lounge to remain operational throughout the process.

Frequent travelers through Terminal 2 will notice a clear difference in their overall airport experience as a result of these changes. Expanded rest areas with recliners, additional workspace options, and self-service dining stations will offer travelers more comfort and flexibility. To make things more comfortable before long flights, the often-crowded KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will be expanded and upgraded with much-needed features like private restrooms and showers.

In general the lounge upgrades show how habits of travel are changing showcasing more time focused on comfort and relaxation before getting on the plane. As airports grow busier and layovers longer, spaces that offer a balance of rest, work, and refreshment have increasing value. For travelers using Changi Terminal 2, this renovation marks a concrete step toward a more efficient and pleasant travel experience.
