Crystal Ski Holidays has added Italian packages for Welsh skiers following the launch of a new TUI Airways service between Cardiff Airport and Turin. The weekly flight will begin on Sunday 20 December 2026 and run throughout the winter season until 14 March 2027, offering direct access to northern Italy’s Alpine resorts.

The new route expands Crystal’s departure options from South Wales, adding Italy to existing ski destinations in Austria, France, Slovenia and Spain. Customers booking through Crystal will be able to choose from nine Italian resorts, including Bardonecchia, Cervinia and Sauze d’Oulx, all reachable via Turin Airport.

“We’re really pleased to be introducing this new Cardiff to Turin flight, as it gives our customers in Wales more choice for their winter ski holiday. Italy is a firm favourite for our customers, so we’re excited that more skiers and snowboarders will be able to access some of Italy’s most loved resorts, with the ease of travelling from their local airport."
Scott Britton, Head of Crystal Ski Holidays

Italian resorts available via Turin

  • Bardonecchia
  • Cervinia
  • Sauze d’Oulx
  • Six additional Italian resorts within Crystal’s programme

Sauze d’Oulx sits within the Milky Way ski area, known for varied terrain and a lively après scene. The region is also recognised for traditional Alpine dishes, including fresh pasta and seasonal white truffles.

The Cardiff–Turin link improves access to the western Italian Alps for travellers in Wales who previously relied on departures from English airports. Turin itself offers historic squares, arcaded streets and views of the surrounding mountains, giving visitors the option to combine city time with days on the slopes.

Italian ski trips continue to attract plenty of UK holidaymakers. Flying direct from Cardiff shortens the journey and removes the need to travel to airports outside Wales. The service runs until mid-March, covering both school half-term weeks and the later part of the season, so skiers can pick dates that suit their plans rather than working around limited departures.
