Belfast travel expert tells how to save on summer bookings
The year 2023 is characterised by a particularly active tourist season, with many people apparently wanting to get the most out of life this summer after a long period of quarantine. At the same time, the global service market has responded to the surplus of holidays with a rapid rise in prices, making the issue of cost savings more relevant than ever.
Kelly Hutchinson, head of the Barrhead Travel branch, shared her advice with tourists on how to save money if they are going on holiday this year. The main thing that the expert recommends is to avoid impromptu trips and plan everything in advance.
Hutchinson says that planning a holiday may seem like a time-consuming and troublesome task, but if you do it right, you will save a considerable amount of money, which will only improve your holiday experience.
Kelly advises to start preparing for an organised holiday by finding a reliable travel agency that will provide you with expert advice according to your financial capabilities and financial protection in case something goes wrong.
Further, if you don't have a holiday destination in mind, it makes sense to consider alternative, less advertised options
"Even in the most popular European resorts, including Spain, Portugal and Greece," the expert says, "there are unusual and little-known options, the price of which will certainly be lower, especially if you book late.
"Travelling to countries where the pound is worth more against the local currency, such as Turkey or Egypt, can also expand your budget."
Finally, be more compromising when booking your summer holiday. Flexibility in choosing your destination, airport of departure and duration of travel can be very beneficial for your wallet. "Even the day of departure," says Kelly Hutchinson, "can have a significant impact on costs and savings, which your travel agent should of course inform you about."
