An island in Finland wants to become the world's first tourist zone without phones
Ulko Tammio, an island in Finland, wants to become the world's first phone-free tourist zone.
Every summer, millions of social media users capture their vacation and share their photos and videos online. But if you're tired of thinking about the perfect Instagram or want to disconnect from annoying work emails while you're away from work, then Ulko-Tammio is the place for you, reports Euronews.
Located in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, the tiny island has declared itself a "phone-free zone."
"This summer, the island of Ulko-Tammio, which is located off the coast of Hamina, will be free of telephone connections," said Mats Selin, a representative of the Visit Kotka-Hamina tourist office.
So if you want to relax away from civilization and the digital world, the route is ready.
